Before first use
It is recommended to rinse the coee maker before the first use. The coee maker should also be rinsed
after a longer period of time without use. Refer to the instruction in the “Cleaning and maintenance”
chapter.
NOTE: When water system is empty, the water pump may work louderanddevice may vibrate more. This
is a common occurrence which will disappear after a given period of time.
Preparation of espresso coee
1. Turn device on by pressing the On/Off switch [3]. Coee maker will start to pre-heat, LED will
blink.
2. Choose the right filter [12] (for one cup, for two cups, for ESE pads) and put it into the filter
holder [13]
3. When coee maker is ready, the LED will stop blinking and shine continuously.
4. Hold the filter holder [13] with filter inside [12] below the mounting point [17] and rinse it
with water to pre-heat it. Press the button “One coee” [1] and wait for the water to
startowing.
5. Pour medium ground coffee powder into the filter [12] and pack the coee gently. Clean the
rim of the filter holder [13] to remove any excess ground coffee.
ADVISE 1. Coee ground too fine (like for brewed coee), will block the flow of the water in
the filter. Coee ground too coarse, will not release the full flavor and aroma of the coffee.
ADVISE 2. If coee is packed too tightly, the flow of water can be obstructedand may scold
the coee and cause the drink to have a burned aroma. It may even block the flow of water
totally. If the coee is packed too loose it will not transfer enough taste and aroma into the
drink.
6. Place the filter holder[13] into the mounting point head [17]. Engravings on the filter holder
must fit in the slots of the filter holder's mounting point. Turn the filter holder all the way to
the right (clockwise).
7. Place cups under the outlets of the filter holder.
8. Press One coee” [1] or Two coees [2] switch and wait for water to start flowing.
Frothing milk
It is advised to froth the milk after the coee had been prepared asmilk frothing mode requires a
higher temperature. After milk frothing it is necessary to wait a minimum of 5 minutes to allow the
device to cool down slightly. If the temperature of brewing is too high, the coee can be scolded which
will cause the coee to have a burned and bitter taste and aroma.
Before frothing ensure the volume of milk is adequate in the cup. Milk can double in volume after
frothing, so care should be taken when deciding the volume of milk.
Use a heat-resistant cup for milk frothing. The cup can get very hot during frothing.
