●● Makesurethatthepowerzoomcontrolcontacts(see
p.6)arekeptfreeofsoiling,scratches,ngerprints,etc.
Failuretoobservethismayresultinfaultycontactsor
corrosion,whichmayleadtothepowerzoomadapter
(seep.13)malfunctioning.Cleanthecontactpoints
withasoftclothintheeventofsoilingorngerprints,
etc.,adhering.
●● Ifthelensistakenfromacoldenvironmentintoa
warmone,condensationmaydeveloponthelens
surfaceandinternalparts.Topreventcondensationin
thiscase,rstputthelensintoanairtightplasticbag
beforetakingitfromacoldtowarmenvironment.Then
takeoutthelensafterithaswarmedgradually.Dothe
samewhentakingthelensfromawarmenvironment
intoacoldone.

Shooting Precautions
Thislensusesnano-USMasthedriveunitforthefocuslens(thelensthatalignsthefocus).
Themotoralsocontrolsthefocuslensduringzooming.
1. When the camera is OFF
ThemotordoesnotoperatewhilethecameraisOFForwhenthecameraisOFFduetotheuseoftheauto
powerofffunction.Therefore,usersmustbeawareofthefollowingpoints.
●● Manualfocusadjustmentsarenotpossible.
●● Duringzooming,delayedfocuswilloccur.
2. When the lens is in sleep mode
Ifnotoperatedforacertainperiodoftime,thislenswillentersleepmodeinordertosavepower.Sleepmode
differsfromwhenthecameraisOFFduetotheuseoftheautopowerofffunction.
Inthisstate,themotorwillnotoperateevenifthecameraisON.Therefore,usersmustbeawareofthefollowing
points.
●● Manualfocusadjustmentsarenotpossible.
●● Duringzooming,delayedfocuswilloccur.
●● Toexitsleepmode,presstheshutterbuttonhalfway.
