1.1 Specications

1.2 Intended use
The battery-operated ePruner is designed to cut
and trim branches, stems, and twigs in gardens,
orchards and farms, using a rechargeable battery
for power. Local safety regulations apply.

2.2 General power tool safety warnings
WARNING
Read all safety warnings, instructions,
illustrations and specications provided
with this power tool. Failure to follow all in-
structions listed below may result in electric
shock, re and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future
reference.
The term “power tool” in the warnings refers
to your mains-operated (corded) power tool
or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
2.2.1 Work area safety
1. Keep work area clean and well lit. Clut-
tered or dark areas invite accidents.
2. Do not operate power tools in explosive
atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power
tools create sparks which may ignite the
dust or fumes.
3. Keep children and bystanders away while
operating a power tool. Distractions can
cause you to lose control.
2.2.2 Electrical safety
1. Power tool plugs must match the outlet.
Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use
any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)
power tools. Unmodied plugs and match-
ing outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with earthed or
grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radia-
tors, ranges and refrigerators. There is an
increased risk of electric shock if your body
is earthed or grounded.
3. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet
conditions. Water entering a power tool will
increase the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not abuse the cord. Never use the
cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil,
sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or
entangled cords increase the risk of electric
shock.
5. When operating a power tool outdoors,
use an extension cord suitable for outdoor
use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use
reduces the risk of electric shock.
6. If operating a power tool in a damp loca-
tion is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an
RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
2.2.3 Personal safety
1. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and
use common sense when operating a power
tool. Do not use a power tool while you are
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medication. A moment of inattention
while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
2. Use personal protective equipment.
Always wear eye protection. Protective
equipment such as a dust mask, non-skid
safety shoes, hard hat or hearing protection
used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.
3. Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the
switch is in the off-position before connect-
ing to power source and/or battery pack,
picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying
power tools with your nger on the switch or
energising power tools that have the switch
on invites accidents.
4. Remove any adjusting key or wrench be-
fore turning the power tool on. A wrench or
a key left attached to a rotating part of the
power tool may result in personal injury.
5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. This enables better
control of the power tool in unexpected
situations.
6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose
clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair and
clothing away from moving parts. Loose
clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught
in moving parts.

7. If devices are provided for the connection
of dust extraction and collection facilities,
ensure these are connected and properly
used. Use of dust collection can reduce
dust-related hazards.
8. Do not let familiarity gained from frequent
use of tools allow you to become compla-
cent and ignore tool safety principles. A
careless action can cause severe injury
within a fraction of a second.
2.2.4 Power tool use and care
1. Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
2. Do not use the power tool if the switch
does not turn it on and off. Any power tool
that cannot be controlled with the switch is
dangerous and must be repaired.
3. Disconnect the plug from the power
source and/or remove the battery pack, if
detachable, from the power tool before mak-
ing any adjustments, changing accessories,
or storing power tools. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting
the power tool accidentally.
4. Store idle power tools out of the reach of
children and do not allow persons unfamiliar
with the power tool or these instructions
to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
5. Maintain power tools and accessories.
Check for misalignment or binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts and any other
condition that may affect the power tool’s
operation. If damaged, have the power tool
repaired before use. Many accidents are
caused by poorly maintained power tools.
6. Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Prop-
erly maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to bind and are
easier to control.
7. Use the power tool, accessories and tool
bits etc. in accordance with these instruc-
tions, taking into account the working con-
ditions and the work to be performed. Use of
the power tool for operations different from
those intended could result in a hazardous
situation.
8. Keep handles and grasping surfaces dry,
clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery
handles and grasping surfaces do not allow
for safe handling and control of the tool in
unexpected situations.
2.2.5 Battery tool use and care
1. Recharge only with the charger specied
by the manufacturer. A charger that is
suitable for one type of battery pack may
create a risk of re when used with another
battery pack.
2. Use power tools only with specically
designated battery packs. Use of any other
battery packs may create a risk of injury
and re.
3. When battery pack is not in use, keep
it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or
other small metal objects, that can make a
connection from one terminal to another.
Shorting the battery terminals together may
cause burns or a re.
4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may be
ejected from the battery; avoid contact.
If contact accidentally occurs, flush with
water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally
seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the
battery may cause irritation or burns.
5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is
damaged or modied. Damaged or modied
batteries may exhibit unpredictable behav-
iour resulting in re, explosion or risk of injury.
6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to re or
excessive temperature. Exposure to re or tem-
perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.
7. Follow all charging instructions and do not
charge the battery pack or tool outside the
temperature range specied in the instruc-
tions. Charging improperly or at temperatures
outside the specied range may damage the
battery and increase the risk of re.
2.2.6 Service
1. Have your power tool serviced by a
qualied repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the
safety of the power tool is maintained.
2. Never service damaged battery packs.
Service of battery packs should only be per-
formed by the manufacturer or authorized
service providers.
2.3 ePruner specic warnings
ePruner is provided with a blade cover. It can
be used especially when storing the device.
1. ePruner is intended to be used at ground
level. Use of additional support such as
ladders is solely under user’s responsibility
and use of these is not encouraged.
2. Do not use the tool for any other task
except for which it is intended.
3. Do not force the power tool. Use the
correct power tool for your application. The
correct power tool will do the job better and
safer at the rate for which it was designed.
WARNING
4. Turn the power off:
• whenever the tool is not in use
• before clearing a blockage
• before checking, cleaning or working on
the ePruner
• after striking a foreign object, e.g. a metal
wire, to inspect the ePruner for damage
• if the ePruner starts to function abnormally.
WARNING
5. If the blades are jammed, put the power
switch to off position to switch off the tool
and make sure not to touch the trigger. Then
remove the foreign matter from the blades.
WARNING
6. Keep your free hand away from the cutting
area. Do not hold the branch you are pruning
with your free hand. Handle the blades with
extreme care to prevent cuts or injury.
2.4 Special Safety Instructions for
Battery packet and Charger
If under extreme conditions any electrolyte
should escape from the battery, it’s essen-
tial to avoid contact with skin. If electrolyte
does come into contact with your skin, rinse
it off with water. In the event of electrolyte
contact with your eyes, it’s essential to
consult a doctor.
1. This appliance is not intended for use by
persons (including children) with reduced
physical, sensory or mental capabilities,
or lack of experience and knowledge,
unless they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance
by a person responsible for their safety.
2. Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
3. Before the use of the charger, read the
instruction manual for it carefully.
4. During the charge process, the current
used should correspond to the current of
the battery charger.
5. Never let moisture, rain or splashed water
reaches the charging location.
6. The ambient temperature must not
exceed 40oC. Never expose the device to
direct insulation.
7. If the electrical cable is damaged, the
wire may only be replaced by the supplier or
by his repair workshop. Have repairs carried
out only by an authorized specialist only.
8. Always keep the surface of the charger
free from dust and dirt.
9. Do not throw batteries into water or re,
risk of explosion!
10. Never discharge the battery completely
and recharge occasionally if not used for a
prolonged period.
The declared vibration total value and the
declared noise emission values have been
measured in accordance with a standard
test method EN 62841-1 and may be used
for comparing one tool with another. The
declared vibration total value may also
be used in a preliminary assessment of
exposure.
WARNING!
The vibration and noise emission during
actual use of the power tool can differ from
the declared total value depending on the
ways in which the tool is used, in particular,
what kind of work piece is machined.
It is necessary to identify safety measured
to protect the operator that are based on an
estimation of exposure in the actual con-
ditions of use (taking account of all parts
of the operating cycle such as the times
when the tool is switched off and when it is
running idle in addition to the trigger time)
Try to minimize the impact of vibration and
noise. Exemplary measures to reduce vibra-
tion exposure include wearing gloves while
using the tool, limiting working time, and
using accessories in good condition.

Residual risks
Even when the tool is used as prescribed it
is not possible to eliminate all residual risk
factors. The following hazards may arise
in connection with the tool’s construction
and design:
1. Damage to lungs if an effective dust mask
is not worn.
2. Damage to hearing if effective hearing
protection is not worn.
3. Health defects resulting from vibration
emission if the power tool is being used
over longer period of time or not adequately
managed and properly maintained.
WARNING!
This machine produces an electromag-
netic eld during operation. This eld may
under some circumstances interfere with
active or passive medical implants. To
reduce the risk of serious or fatal injury, we
recommend persons with medical implants
to consult their physician and the medical
implant manufacturer before operating this
machine.
2.4.1 Disposing and shipping the batteries
Please see section 6 related to disposal and
recycling from the manual.
1. When disposing of the battery pack,
remove it from the power tool and dispose
of it in a safe place. Please recycle the
device at an appointed disposal location
for lithium-ion batteries. Follow your local
regulations relating to disposal of batteries.
WARNING:
2. Never incinerate the battery pack even if
it is severely damaged or completely worn
out as it can explode in a re.
3. The lithium-ion batteries are classied
as dangerous during transport, so there are
requirements and restrictions affecting the
transport. Please observe the national reg-
ulations related to transporting batteries.
4. Tape or mask off open contacts and pack the
battery in such a manner that it cannot move.
5. For commercial transport by third parties
or forwarding agents, special requirements
regarding packaging and labeling must be
observed.
2.4.2 Tips for maintaining maximum battery life
1. Make sure the battery pack is fully
charged prior to use.
2. Charge the battery before completely
discharged.
3. The product should not be stored for more
than one year without using it as the perfor-
mance of the battery might be diminished.
4. Do not recharge or continue charging a
fully charged battery.

3. Operating ePruner
3.1 Preparing ePruner for operation
CAUTION: Always make sure that the power
tool is turned off from the power switch and
the blades are locked before adjusting or
checking any function on the tool.
CAUTION: The user needs to understand
how power tool’s main parts and safety
mechanisms work before using the product.
Check the list before operation
The following steps must be performed
before operating the power tool:
1. Ensure that the power tool is turned off
2. Ensure that the power tool is in safe condition
3. Check and fully charge the battery
4. Clean the power tool
5. Clean the blades
6. Check the controls
If you cannot carry out this task: do not use the
power tool and contact Fiskars customer service
for assistance.
The Battery, LEDS and signals
• The product contains a built-in battery which is
charged via the USB Type-C input port.
• Battery should be charged 100 % before the rst
usage.
• The battery can be recharged quickly, especially
when it is stored in room temperature.
• Charge battery using a USB-C cable connected to
a power adapter plugged into a power source.
• White LEDs in the battery indicate the state-of-
charge of the battery or possible faults.
• When charging these lights start to blink when the
following capacities are reached:
• 1 LED: 20 % capacity
• 2 LED: 50 % capacity
• 3 LED: 75 % capacity
• 4 LED: 100 % capacity.
• If all the 4 LEDs are blinking simultaneously, this is a
sign of overheating. Wait until the product has cooled
down. If needed, reduce the number of cuts per min-
ute or diameter of branches that are being cut.

3.2 Operating ePruner
3.2.1 Holding and controlling the ePruner
• Power switch is a three-stage slider switch for pow-
ering the pruner (On/Off) and for adjusting the blade
opening angle. The operating trigger is inactive, and
all power is off when the power switch is in a forward
position, i.e. the left side.
WARNING
• Hold ePruner rmly with one hand on the
body. Operate the trigger with your index
nger. Always keep your free hand well away
from the blades.

3.2.2 Using the power switch and trigger
• The blades do not work by moving only the power
switch. Using the blades requires the use of both the
power switch and the trigger.
• Operating trigger is used to execute a cutting
action. The trigger contains a smaller mechanical
pre-trigger (safety trigger), which needs to be en-
gaged before the trigger switch can be pressed.
• By pressing the trigger, the cutting blade opens the
cut movement and blades close. The blades open
when the trigger is released and in case the trigger is
pressed continuously the blades stay closed.
• The power switch works in the following stages:
• Stage 1: OFF switch function where the product
power is off. The switch is in the forward position.
• Stage 2: power on and the blade in 1/2 switch
function.
• Stage 3: power on and the blade open 100 %.

3.2.3 Switching the ePruner on/off
• When the user is ready to test the product, move
the power switch either to stage 2 or 3, depending
how wide blades should be open.
• Wait a moment. Device gives a sound signal. This
will activate ePruner, signal conrms the action.
• When pressing the trigger the cutting blade closes.
• After pressing the trigger, the returning position is
set by the switch placement. See gure 4.
• The blade lock can be achieved in two ways when
one wants to stop cutting:
1. Press the trigger and hold: then put the power
switch to OFF-position. This will close the blades
and the power tool is then ready to be moved.
2. When the trigger is pulled consistently for 5 seconds
until one short beep sound, the blades are locked.
