BATTERY OPERATION
1. Open the Battery Compartment.
2. Insert 4 pieces of ”D size batteries into the Battery Compartment. Make sure that the batteries
are installed with proper polarity to prevent possible damage to the unit:
Load new batteries with their polarities ( + and - ) aligned correctly.
Do not apply heat to batteries, or internal short-circuit may occur.
If this unit is not to be used for a long period of time, remove all batteries and store them in a cool
and dry place.
Remove exhausted batteries immediately and dispose of them.
Do not use old and new batteries together. Also never use an alkaline battery with a Manganese
battery.
Battery life
If the sound becomes low or distorted, replace all the batteries with new ones.
Or when the display is hardly visible, replace all the batteries with new ones.
NOTE : Batteries connection are cut off whenever AC connector is plugged into the jack
on the unit. If AC supply discontinues, please be reminded to unplug the AC cord
connector from the unit, otherwise, even if batteries are installed into the unit, the time
setting will lose soon.

2. Select the waveband ( AM / FM / SW ) or AUX mode by pressing the BAND/AUX-IN button
( 13 ). The band / AUX indication will always be shown on the LCD
3. Adjust the antenna ( See ANTENNAS )
4. Tune manually, automatically, or by MEMORY to a desired radio station. The LCD will display
the frequency of the received station for 5 seconds, and then jump back to show the time. ( See
TUNING ). After a station is chosen, the radio frequency and the time will be shown
alternatively on the LCD for a period of 5 seconds.
5. Adjust the volume by pressing Vol+ ( 7 ) or Vol- ( 8 ), to the desired level.
Volume levels from 00 ( mute ) to 18 ( maximum ).
6. Press ON/OFF button ( 1 ) again to turn off the radio, then LCD will show time only.

ANTENNAS
FM:
Extend and adjust the angle of the 360° FM Antenna for optimum FM reception.
AM and SW :
The ferrite bar antenna inside the unit will provide excellent AM & SW reception in most
areas. For optimum reception, turn the unit in the direction which gives the best results
since the ferrite bar antenna is directional.
TUNING
Turn on the radio, and select the required band. The radio can be tuned to the desired station
by either of the 3 methods, Manual Tuning, Automatic Tuning, or Memory Tuning.
MANUAL TUNING
For FM tuning, frequency will be tuned up or down by one step ( 0.1 MHz ) each time when either the
Tuning UP button ( 10 ) or Tuning DOWN button ( 9 ) is pressed respectively. Then press Tuning UP
button ( 10 ) or Tuning DOWN button ( 9 ) repeatedly until the desired frequency is reached.
For AM tuning, each step is 9KHz.
For SW tuning, each step is 5KHz ( 0.005MHz ). By pressing SW METER button ( 12 ), the tuned
frequency can jump to the different METER position in the following sequence :MHz, 7.100 MHz,
9.500 MHz, 11.650 MHz, 13.600MHz, 15.100MHz, 17,500 MHz & 21.450 MHz. You can select the
closest METER position, then tune to the desired SW station by pressing Tuning UP button ( 10 ) or
Tuning DOWN button ( 9 ) .
AUTOMATIC TUNING
Press Tuning UP button ( 10 ) or Tuning DOWN ( 9 ) continuously for more than 1 second and release,
the automatic tuning function of the unit will start seek-up or seek-down to the next nearest station
with sufficient signal strength. Repeat the procedure until the desired station is reached.
MEMORY TUNING
You can store the frequency of 75 radio stations in the memory, 25 memories ( 1 25 ) each for AM,
FM & SW. ( see MEMORY PRESET ). After memories are stored, just press M+ button ( 3 ) or M-
button ( 4 ) to choose to tune to the station stored in the previous location, or the next location
respectively. The memory location number of the chosen station will appear on the right top corner of
the display. The radio frequency of the chosenstation will also appear on the LCD. In 5 seconds after
the station is chosen, the LCD will jump back to the mode showing time and frequency alternatively
