4. Setup
Measuring and base station
Remove the protective lm from the display.
Open the battery compartment on the back of themeasuring
station and insert 2AAbatteries, observing the correct polarity.
Open the battery compartment on the back of thebase station
and insert 2AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity.
Then close the battery compartment cover.
Note
Please remember, during commissioning, to always insert the
batteries into the measuring station rst.
5. Installation
Note -Installation
We recommend initially positioning the base station and
measuring station at the preferred setup locations without
installing them and carrying out allthe settings -as
described in 6. Operation.
Do not installthe station(s) until the settings arecorrect and
the radio connection is stable
Note
The range of the radio transmission between themeasuring
station and the base station is up to 30 minunobstructed
areas.
Beforeinstalling, make surethat the radio transmission is
not inuenced by interfering signals or obstacles such as
buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage power lines, etc.
Before nal installation, make surethat thereissucient
reception between the desired installation locations.
When installing the measuring station, take caretoensure
this is positioned so that it is protected from direct sunlight
and rain.
The international standardheight for measuring air
temperatureis1.25 m(4ft) above ground.
Warning
Buy special or suitable installation material from aspecialist
dealer for wall-mounting.
Ensurethat you do not installany faulty or damaged parts.
Never apply force during assembly. These can damage the

6. Operation
Connection to the measuring station
After the batteries areinserted, the base station automatically
searches for aconnection to themeasuring station and carries
out the initial setup routine.
Note
Initial setup takes around 3minutes.
The radio symbol measuring station (1) ashes when
searching for aconnection.
Avoid any operation of the buttons duringthistime!
Otherwise, errors and inaccuracies may occur in thevalues
and their transmission.
The process is nished as soon as theindoor and outdoor
measurement data aredisplayed.
Note -faultytransmission ofthe measured
values
In some cases, interference caused by aWiFi network,
computer,TV, etc., for example, may cause the transmission
of measured values between thebase andmeasuring
station to fail.
If this happens, resynchronise the stations by brieyremoving
the batteriesfromboth stations andreinserting them.
If the measured values arenot transmitted again, replace the
batteries with new ones.
If necessary, choose anew location for thebase station to
avoid the possible interference signals in the future.
The measuring station andbase station must not be
positioned morethan 30 metres apart.
Stay at least 2.5 maway from interference

Automatic setting according to the DCF signal
After successful transmission of the indoor and outdoor
temperatures between the measuring and base stations, the
weather station (after around 3minutes) automaticallystarts
searching for aDCF signal. The DCF radio symbol (5) ashes
during the search process. This can take afurther 7min.
When the radio signal is received, the date and timeare set
automatically.
Note -setting the time
If no DCF radio signal is received within the rstfew minutes
of the initial setup procedure, the search is terminated. The
radio symbol disappears.
In the event of reception problems, we recommend leaving
the clock standing overnight since the interference signals
aregenerally fewer in number at this time.
Meanwhile, you can carry out amanual searchfor the
DCF radio signal at adifferent location or set the dateand
time manually.
The clock automatically continues to searchfor the DCF
radio signal daily (01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:00).
Once the signal is received successfully, the manuallyset
time and date areoverwritten.
