5. Installation
Note -Installation
We recommend initially positioning the base station and
measuring station at the preferred setup locations without
installing them and carrying out allthe settings -as
described in 6. Operation.
Do not installthe station(s) until thesettings arecorrect and
the radio connection is stable
Note
The range of the radio transmission between themeasuring
station and the base station is up to 50 minunobstructed
areas.
Beforeinstalling, make surethat the radio transmissionis
not inuenced by interferingsignalsorobstacles such as
buildings, trees, vehicles, high-voltage power lines, etc.
Before nal installation, make surethat thereissucient
reception between the desired installation locations.
When installing the measuringstation, take caretoensure
this is positioned so that it is protected from direct sunlight
and rain.
The international standardheight for measuring air

6. Operation
Connection to the measuring station
After connection to the mains supply, the base station
automatically searches for aconnection to the measuring
station and carries out the initialsetup routine.
Note
Initial setup takes around 3minutes.
The radio symbol measuring station (5) ashes when
searching for aconnection.
Avoid any operation of the buttons during this time!
Otherwise, errors and inaccuracies may occur in the values
and their transmission.
The process is nished as soon as the indoor and outdoor
measurement data aredisplayed.
Note -faulty transmission of themeasured
values
In some cases, interference caused by aWiFi network,
computer,TV, etc., for example, may cause the transmission
of measured values between the base andmeasuring
station to fail.
If this happens, resynchronisethe stations by brieyremoving
thebatteriesfrombothstationsand reinsertingthem.
If themeasuredvaluesare nottransmittedagain,replacethe
batteries with new ones.
If necessary, choose anew location for the base station to
avoid the possible interference signals in the future.
The measuring stationand basestation mustnot be
positioned more than 50 metres apart.
Stay at least 2.5 maway from interference
Automatic setting according to the DCF signal
After successful transmission of the indoor andoutdoor
temperatures between the measuringand base stations, the
weather station (after around 3minutes) automatically starts
searching for aDCF signal. The DCF radio symbol (2) ashes
during the search process. This can take afurther 7min.
When the radio signal is received, the date andtime areset
automatically.
Note -setting the time
If no DCF radio signal is received within the rst few minutes
of the initial setup procedure, the search is terminated. The
radio symbol disappears.
In the event of reception problems, we recommend leaving
the clock standing overnightsince theinterference signals
aregenerally fewer in number at this time.
Meanwhile, you can carry out amanual search for the
DCF radio signal at adifferent location or set thedate and
time manually.
The clock automatically continues to search for the DCF
radio signal daily (01:00, 02:00, 03:00, 04:00 and 05:00).
Once the signal is received successfully, the manually set
time and date areoverwritten.
