GB | Smoke Detector
This manual contains important safety in
formation regarding the instal
lation and operation of the
detector. Car
efully read this manual and s
tore it safel
y for future use. Familiarise other residents o
f
the building with the operation of the detector
.
Create an evacuation plan in case o
f re and perform a drill every month. All residents o
f the building
should be familiar with the detector signals in order to be abl
e to immediately react to them.
The detector allo
ws the detection of a slow bu
rning ames accompanied by thick black smoke. These
ames can take hours before the
y turn into a large re.
Note:
If construction work is taking place in the area which causes a lar
ge amount of dust, you should
dismount the detector from the mounting pla
te to protect the detec
tor. If you cannot f
or some reason,
cover the openings of the det
ector for the duration of the work, by e.g. a plas
tic bag.
A covered detect
or will not detect re or smoke. Unco
ver it every day after work is nished.

Installation
The installation must be performed b
y a qualied person.
The person performing the installation is r
esponsible for installing the product in acc
ordance with
valid regulations.
When in doubt, leave the instal
lation to a qualied professional.
The detector is not designed for use in camper vans.
Ideally
, a smoke detector should be instal
led in every room of the house with the ex
ception of
kitchens, bathrooms and garages. Each oor of the house, including the s
tairs, should have at least
one smoke detector install
ed.
The smoke detector should be located in a place wher
e you can hear it even when you‘
re sleeping,
e.g. in the hall in front of the bedr
oom.
Install the detector on the ceiling o
f each bedroom and hall in front of the bedroom. If the hall is longer
than 9 m, install a detector on both ends.
If you have a multi-stor
ey house, install the detector in the same manner on each oor
.
Y
ou will be protected ev
en against smoke rising up the stairs from the bott
om oor.
In the cellar, ins
tall the detector on the ceiling at the bottom o
f the stairs.
Do not install the detector in bathr
ooms or kitchens; the steam from water or f
ood could cause false
alarms. In the garage, the alarm could be triggered by the e
xhaust from your car.
The ventilation openings of the warning device mus
t not be covered up.
Do not spray aerosol agents in the vicinity or onto the warning de
vice.
Do not paint the warning device.
Note:
National regulations vary in terms of the number and location of smoke det
ectors.
When in doubt, contact e.g. the re brigade.

Installing the device onto a wal
l
Drill two holes (ø 5 mm) into the wall; the dis
tance between the holes should be 60 mm.
Insert the attached wall plugs into the openings, place the mounting plate and attach it to the w
all
with screws.
Put batteries into the detector and test its functionality
, see T
esting Mode.
If the detector is operational, place the rear side o
f the detector onto the mounting plate into the
two mounting pegs and turn in the direction of the arro
ws, see gure Mounting plate installation.

Putting into operation
Insert batteries (2× 1.5 V AA) into the battery compartment on the back.
Only use alkaline batteries of the same type, nev
er use rechargeable batteries.
When inserting batteries into the area with plastic clips, be care
ful to insert the batter
y properly!
See gure Insertion of batteries.
After inserting the batteries, a red LED wil
l ash.
The LED will then ash red every 40 seconds, indicating the detector is functional.
Warning:
The assembly cover cannot be shut unl
ess all batteries are in place!
The plastic clip in the battery compartment prevents the mounting of the as
sembly cover.
It is necessary to always have all batt
eries inserted and the mounting plate in place to prevent the
batteries from falling out o
f the battery compartment.
T
esting mode
Whenever needed or during every battery replacement, you can test the functionality o
f the detector.
Long-press the main button for ca 5 seconds; the det
ector will beep 3× in a row (then a 1.5 second
pause will follow) and a r
ed LED will ash.
If the detector does not emit an acoustic signal, check the batteries and as
sembly.
Do not hold the main button for more than 12 seconds, or the det
ector will switch to mode for
pairing with other units.
It is possible that other paired alarms will also begin beeping during t
esting (if you are using multiple
alarms in the residential space).
After releasing the main butt
on, the other alarms should stop beeping within 1 minute.
Use testing mode 1× a week to make sure the alarm is oper
ational.
Note:
The acoustic and optical alarm during testing is onl
y used as indication that the detector is operational.
It does not mean that the presence of smoke has been de
tected.
Fault state
If the detector is in fault state, it is no
t functional.
The fault state is indicated ev
ery 40 seconds by 1 beep and 20 seconds after the beep by 1 ash
of red LED.
Immediately replace the batteries and check that the det
ector is undamaged; clean the openings of
the detector by e.g. a vacuum cleaner
. Perform a functionality test.
If the fault state persists e
ven after batteries hav
e been replaced, contact the service centre.
Flat batteries
Flat batteries in the alarm are indicated by simultaneous beeping + ashing o
f red LED 1× every 40
seconds.
Immediately replace batteries. Use alkaline batteries onl
y, not r
echargeable ones.
Perform a functionality test.
It is recommended to replace batteries 1× a y
ear as a precaution.
Manual silencing of acoustic signal for at batteries
If needed, the acoustic signal can be temporarily silenc
ed.
Press the main button during alarm mode; the acoustic signal wil
l be silenced for 8 hours (the red
LED will ash every 8 seconds).
End of service life of the detect
or
The detector has a service life of 10 years sinc
e production.
After expir
ation, the detector must no longer be used and must be r
eplaced with a new device.
The replacement date for the detect
or is listed on the label on the back, next to „Replac
e device“.
If you are using multiple detectors, r
emember to check their replacement dates!
Alarm warning
If smoke is detected, the detector wil
l start emitting an acoustic + optical signal.
