clips.
Please empty the waste tray regularly.
Ensure that the machine is operated on a at stable
surface.
Never lift the machine by the punching handle. Always
use the hand grips located on the side of the machine.
To avoid risk of injury DO NOT put your ngers into the
wire binding channel.
The binder is not to be exposed to temperature / humidity
conditions that would cause condensation. Maximum
ambient temperature: 40ºC
This equipment is not suitable for use in locations where
children are likely to be present.

Instruction Manual EN
Waste Electrical and Electronic
Equipment (WEEE)
Electrical and electronic devices contain
materials and substances that can have
damaging eects on human health and the environment.
This symbol indicates that this device must not be treated
as unsorted municipal waste but must be collected
separately. Dispose of the device via a collection point for
the recycling of waste electrical and electronic equipment
within the EU, UK and in other European countries that
operate separate collection systems for waste electrical
and electronic equipment. By disposing of the device in
the proper manner, you help to avoid possible hazards for
the environment and public health that could otherwise be
caused by improper treatment of waste equipment. The
recycling of materials contributes to the conservation of
natural resources.
Setting up
1 Plug machine into a power socket (g. A).
2 Adjust the Punch Edge Guide to the correct paper
length (g. B).
3 Check the Bind Edge Guide alignment by inserting a
receiving strip in the Strip Recess area. Lay a sheet of
correctly aligned punched paper on the strip, matching
up the holes and the strip so that the strip is not showing
at the top or bottom of the paper. Adjust the Guide if
necessary by sliding the Guide to the edge of the paper.
Binding
1 Place the receiving strip (bottom binding strip with
holes) textured side down in the Strip Recess located
in front of the Backstop. Be sure the small hole in
the receiving strip is over the Locating Pin. The
Locating Pin is on the left hand side of the Strip Recess
area in front of the Backstop. The Locating Pin ts into
the small hole in the plastic strip. The strip is positioned
correctly over the Locating Pin when it is dicult to slide
the strip to the right. Failure to properly align the
strip can cause machine damage (g. D).
2 Place the back cover (face down) the punched sheets
(last page on the bottom) and front cover (face up) on
top of the receiving strip (g. E).
3 Now determine the correct size of the pin strip. Use
the scale on the Backstop to determine the thickness
of the document and the size of the pins required. Use
a 25mm (1″) pin if the document measures 12.7mm
(0.5″) or less on the scale. Do not use strips with pins
longer than 50mm (2″) on this model. Insert the strip
through the document’s holes and the receiving strip
(g. F).
4 Begin the binding process by pulling the Pressure Bar
toward you (g. G) and lowering it on the top of the
document. The Indicator Light will now go ‘On’. Pull the
Handle down in a uniform, smooth motion and leave
it down. (Don’t apply pressure, the Handle will remain
down until you lift it (g. H)). The binding cycle will be
complete in 8-10 seconds. When the Indicator Light
goes out (g. I) lift the Handle and the Pressure Bar and
remove the document (g. J).
Punching
1 Place the paper fully in the punch and slide the paper
to the left against the Punch Edge Guide. Lower the
Handle with a rm even motion. Raise the Handle to
remove the paper (g. C).
2 To prevent jamming only 20 sheets of 70g/m2 (20lb
bond) paper should be punched at one time (fewer
sheets if the paper is heavier). Punch one 20 sheet
segment of your document and stack the punched
sections on the binding surface. Do not punch more
than 4 composition covers or 3 transparent covers at
one time.
3 Remember to lay each punched segment of your
documents on the Binding Surface as you work.
Preassembling your document on another surface can
cause binding problems due to improper location of the
receiving strip (not on the Locating Pin).
Service
WARNING: Do not attempt to service or repair the
punch. Failure to observe this warning could result in
severe personal injury or death.
Disconnect the plug from the socket outlet and contact
GBC Technical Service when one or more of the following
has occurred.
The power supply cord or attachment plug is damaged.
• Liquid has been spilled into the punch.
The punch is malfunctioning after being mishandled.
The punch does not operate as described in these
instructions.
