3. Safety instructions
Use the product only for the intended purpose.
Do not use the product in the immediate vicinity of
heaters, other heat sources or in direct sunlight.
Ensurethereissucient scope for heat dissipation and
ventilation.
Only use the article undermoderate climaticconditions.
Do not use the product in areas in which electronic
productsare notpermitted.
Do notuse the productinadamp environment and
avoid splashingwater.
Do not short-circuit the battery of the opened terminal
device. Thereisarisk of explosion.
Protect the product from dirt, moistureand overheating
and use it in dry environments only.
Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any
major shocks.
Do not operate the product outside the power limits
specied in the technical data.
Always pulldirectly on the plug when disconnecting the
cable, never on the cable itself.
Make surethat cables do not pose atripping hazardor
block emergency exits.
Do not bend or crush the cable.
As with allelectrical products, this device should be kept
out of the reach of children.
Do not modify the device in any way.Doing so voids the
warranty.
Keep the packaging material out of the reachofchildren
due to the risk of suffocation.
Dispose of packaging material immediately in
accordance with the locally applicable regulations.

4. Start-up and operation
Note –mains voltage 100 –240V
The power supplyunit is suitable formains voltages
of 100 –240Vand therefore can be usedworldwide.
Please note that acountry-specicadapter may be
necessary.
Ensurethat your notebook requires asupplyvoltage of
12V/14V/15V/16V/18V/18.5V/19V/19.5V/
20V/21 V/22V (+/- 1Volt).
Youcan nd thisinformation on the original power
supply unit or in your terminal device's operating
manual. If necessary, ask the dealer who supplied
your terminal device or contact your terminaldevice
manufacturer's support service.
Set the voltage selector switch to thevoltage required by
your terminal device.
Warning
Do not use the universal notebook power supply unit if
you areunable to denitively determine your terminal
device's supply voltage.
Do not change the voltage again during operation of
the power supply unit in combination with aterminal
device.
Ensurethat the notebook's total power consumption
does not exceed the power supply unit'srated output
of 90W.
Failuretocomply with thismay cause damage to
the universal notebook power supply unit and the
connected terminal device!

contrary,proceed as follows:
Warning
Do not use force to connect the notebook connector.
Missing or lost notebook connectors can be requested
via our support hotline or by visiting www.hama.
com/adapter-service.Available connectors willbe
sent to you free of charge.
Use the connector on the originalpower supply unit to
select the appropriate notebook connector.
Without connecting it to the power supply unit,
determine the mechanical compatibilitybetweenthe
notebook connector andthe connectionsocket on the
terminal device.
The connector must slide easily into the socket but
should not exhibit too much play.
Warning
Only operate the product from asocket that has been
approved for the device. The socket must be installed
close to theproduct and must be easily accessible.
Disconnect the product from the powersupply using
the On/Off switch –ifthis is notavailable, unplugthe
power cordfromthe socket.
If usingamulti-socket power strip, make surethatthe
total powerconsumption of allconnected devices does
not exceed the power strip's maximum throughput
rating.
Connect the appropriate notebook connector to the
power supply unit's DC connection cable.
Connect the power cordtothe power supply unit and
your terminal device.
Then connect the mains plug to aproperly installed
socket.
When the power supply is active, the LED lights up to
indicate that the power supply unit is ready for operation.
The terminal device can now be used and switched on /
charged.
Note
Disconnect the product from the mains after use.
Note regarding the USB-Asocket
Youhave the optionofcharging or operating USB
devices from the power supply unit's USB socket,e.g.
tablet PC, smartphone, etc. The maximum output current
from the USB socket is 2A.
5. Careand Maintenance
Note
Disconnect the product from the mains beforecleaning.
Only clean thisproduct withaslightly damp, lint-free
cloth and do not use aggressivecleaning agents.
Ensurethat no water is able to enter the product.

warrantyfor damage resulting from improperinstallation/
mounting, improper use of the product or from failureto
observe the operating instructions and/or safety notes.
