IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Please read this manual carefully before using the appliance, and
always follow the safety and operating instructions.
Important : This appliance can be used by children over 8 years
old and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capacities or with a lack of experience or knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instructions concerning the safe use of
the appliance and the risks involved. Children shall not play with
the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made
by children unless they are older than 8 years and supervised.
Never leave the appliance and its cord unsupervised and within
reach of children less than 8 years old or irresponsible persons
when it is plugged into the wall or when it is cooling down.
❑ Check that your mains voltage corresponds to that stated on
the appliance.
❑ Never leave the appliance unsupervised when in use.
❑ From time to time check the appliance for damages. Never
use the appliance if cord or appliance shows any signs of
damage. In that case, repairs should be made by a competent
qualified electrician(*).
❑ Only use the appliance for domestic purposes and in the way
indicated in these instructions.
❑ Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid for
any reason whatsoever. Never place it into the dishwasher.
❑ Never use the appliance near hot surfaces.
❑ Unplug the appliance before cleaning it.
❑ Never use the appliance outside and always place it in a dry
environment.
❑ Never use accessories that are not recommended by the
producer. They could constitute a danger to the user and risk
to damage the appliance.
❑ Never move the appliance by pulling the cord. Make sure the
cord cannot get caught in any way. Do not wind the cord
around the appliance and do not bend it.
❑ Let the appliance cool down before cleaning or storing it.

❑ Stand the appliance on a table or flat surface to prevent it
from falling down.
❑ Make sure the cord does not come into contact with the hot
parts of the appliance.
❑ The temperature of the accessible surfaces may be very
high when the appliance is in use. Never touch these hot
surfaces.
❑ Make sure the appliance never comes into contact with
inflammable materials, such as curtains, cloth, etc. when it is
in use, as a fire might occur.
❑ Be careful not to scratch the special coating of the baking
plates, as you might get little pieces of this coating into the
food. Use a classical wooden spatula or a heat-resistant
plastic one.
❑ Always unplug the appliance when it is not in use, especially
since it is not equipped with an on/off switch.
❑ Only use the appliance for food that is supposed to be
cooked.
❑ Your appliance must never be switched on through an
external timer or any kind of separate remote control system.
❑ Please note: Should the symbol be indicated on a certain
surface, you need to be careful when handling the product.
This symbol means: CAUTION, this surface may get very hot
during use.
The symbol is always put on the surface with the highest
temperature, however the other metallic or non-metallic surfaces
can also become very hot during use and it is therefore advisable
to always handle them with care and if possible with the help of
isothermal gloves or other thermal protection. In case of doubt
concerning the temperature of a certain surface it is always
preferable to protect oneself.
(*) Competent qualified electrician: after-sales department of the
producer or importer or any person qualified, approved and
competent to perform this kind of repairs in order to avoid all
danger. In case of need return the appliance to this electrician.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE
• Before the first use, we advise you to clean the plates with a damp cloth and to dry
them carefully.
• Open the appliance to make sure there is nothing on the plate surface. Close the
appliance and insert the plug into the power socket. The red power light will come
on, indicating that the appliance is heating.
Caution: Protective coating burn off will cause smoking on first use. This is NOT harmful
and will disappear after a short time. Therefore it is recommended to let your appliance
work empty for 10 minutes before the first use.
• The pilot light will go out when the right cooking temperature is reached. During use,
this pilot light will come on and off regularly. This simply means that the thermostat is
regulating the appliance's temperature.
OPERATION OF THE CONTACT GRILL
• The non-stick coating allows you not to make use of grease or oil for most foods. For
low-fat foods such as fish or vegetables, you can grease the grill plates, but if the fish
or vegetables are marinated, it is not necessary.
• When the grill has reached the right temperature, open it by lifting the upper plate.
• Put the foods on the lower grill plate and close the lid.
• Lock the two halves of the appliance with the locking clip.
• Let the foods grill until you reach the desired results.
• When the food is ready, remove it with a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use any
sharp or metallic objects, as this might damage the non-stick coating of the baking
plates.
• When the grilling is finished, unplug the appliance and leave it open so that the grill
plates can cool down.
OPERATION OF THE WAFFLE MAKER
• Open the appliance and lightly brush the baking plates with butter, margarine or
cooking oil.
• Pour the dough evenly into the notches of the bottom baking plate but not all the
way to the edges and close the appliance. Press the lid down for a moment to
spread the dough evenly on the baking plate.
• Bake until golden brown (about 4 to 6 minutes). During baking time, you can lift the
lid to control the browning degree of the waffles. When the waffles are ready,
remove them with a plastic or wooden spatula. Never use any sharp or metallic
objects, as this might damage the non-stick coating of the baking plates.
• When you have finished baking, unplug the appliance and leave it open so that the
baking plates can cool down.
