1. Open your Shelly Smart Control app.
2. Tap on the Add Device button if this is the rst device you are
adding.
If you already have devices added to your account, tap on the plus
sign at the bottom right corner of the screen

Local Web interface
Every Shelly device provides local web interface for you to control
and congure your devices through a standard web browser on
either your computer or mobile device. Its functionality encompasses
an array of adjustment and control features, including the ability to
power your device on or off, set schedules and congure actions to
be executed when certain conditions are met, congure the device
and much more.
You do not need internet connection or Shelly Cloud to use
the local web interface - the only requirement is that your browser
must be in the same WiFi network as your Shelly device.To use
the web interface you must:
- Connect to a Wi-Fi network with a name (SSID) that follows this
format: "WaterValve-XXXXXXXXXX", where 'XXXXXXXXXX'
represents a unique combination of letters and numbers,
constituting the device ID
- After establishing a connection to the device’s Access Point
accessing the web interface is done by entering the universal IP
address for all Shelly devices http://192.168.33.1 in your browser
The configuration page in the app supports all generic
settings for the device, like controlling WiFi and Bluetooth
connection, device resets, sharing, etc.
For the Smart Valve,
you can configure actions to be performed:
- on power loss - either open, close or set the valve at a
predefined position in %
- when power is restored - in addition to open, close and set
position, an option to restore the position of the valve before
power was lost is also available.
The valve position can be set between 0% and 100%
in steps of 10%.
Scan the QR code or d ownload the Shelly Smart Control app
from Apple Store or Google play to install.
If you don't have an account you need to create one in the app.
In the "Home" screen of the web interface, you can access the
device main functionality - fully opening/closing the valve or
opening the valve to a certain percent. Opening and closing
the valve can be done via the up & down buttons of the
control Ul. You can also open the valve to a certain
percentage using the horizontal slider. On the main page you
can find an indication of the power status. If the valve loses
power, this will be indicated on the home screen.

4. Enter the requested credentials and press Next.
5. Wait while your device is added to the network. This might
take several minutes.

As part of Shelly Cloud, the valve can be integrated into scenes
that coordinate multiple devices in your account acting in tandem to
achieve a desired outcome.For instance, a scene called “Going on
vacation” can:
- Turn off all lights around the house by instructing the Shelly
Dimmer controllers around the house.
- Cut off the water supply using the Smart Water Valve
- Close the blinds using a Shelly 2PM.
Similar options for behavior are available when the power is
restored, with the addition of “Restore last position”.
Note: in case of power loss, the valve has limited time of operation -
usually one open or close action, if such is specied in the valve
conguration screen.

In case of power loss you can choose between the following
options:
- Open the valve completely
- Close the valve completely
- Set position of the valve - dene a level in percentage of opening/
closing of the valve of the main screen, and allows you to set up the
behavior of the valve on power loss.
Actions
You are able to dene actions when certain conditions are met.
Actions can also be limited to be active during a certain period of
time during the day.
The most frequently used action is to run a web hook (a web
request to a server or another Shelly device). These can be
used as a notication or as an instruction for another Shelly
device to perform an operation (e.g turn something on or off) -
entirely locally without the need of a cloud connection. Actions
can also be limited to be active during a certain period of time.

Temperature sensor input
The Smart Water Valve also supports connecting a temperature
sensor for temperature monitoring and smart automations.
The supported model is the popular DS18B20 temperature sensor,
ending with a 3.5mm audio jack, wired as shown on the diagram
below:
The sensor must be connected to the female audio jack socket,
attached to the power cable. The Smart Water Valve will discover
the sensor automatically and the discovery can take up to a minute.
Once the temperature sensor is discovered, its readings will be
shown in the app and local web interface, and you can use it to
dene actions based on changes in the temperature - e.g. close the
valve is the temperature drops below 5° C.
