USE
PRECAUTIONS:
WARNING!
It
is
essential
to
read
this
manual
before
using
the
welding
helmet.
F
ollow
site
specific
OHS
regulations.
In
the
c
ase
of
any
incorrec
t
operation
or
doubt
as
to
how
to
use
the
helmet
correctly
,
report
it
to
your
supervisor
or
contact
loc
al
authorised
technical
ser
vice.
It
is
forbidden
to
use
the
helmet
at
variance
with
its
intended
use.
Always
assess
operability
of
the
welding
helmet
prior
t
o
work.
The
helmet
is
unfit
for
use
if
it
has
damage,
fogged
surface,
discolouration,
scratches
and
cracks
of
the
protective
glass
or
helmet.
Replace
the
helmet
or
glass
with
a
new
one.
CAUTION!
Only
genuine
and
appropriat
e
parts
may
be
used
as
replacements.
Select
an
appropriate
filter
shade
to
the
type
of
work
tha
t
will
be
performed.
In
the
case
of
any
incorrect
operation
of
the
helmet
,
especially
auto
darkening
filter
failur
e
(for
example:
no
darkening
,
too
long
darkening
delay
,
too
early
clearance),
damage
to
helmet
body
,
etc
.
immediately
cease

ork
and
report
the
problem
to
a
supervisor
or
contact
local
authorised
technical
ser
vice.
The
helmet
does
not
protect
against
objects
at
high
speed.
The
helmet
does
not
prot
ect
against
corrosive
or
explosiv

not
put
the
helmet
or
auto
darkening
filter
on
hot
sur
faces.
During
operation,
keep
the
external
pr
otective
plate
installed
.
Using
the
helmet
without
the
external
protective
plat

may
damage
the
helmet
and
render
warranty
void.
Replace
the
external
protective
glass
regularly
.
Use
original
glasses.
Av
oid
positions
where
spatt
er
and
radiation

affect
unprotected
body
parts
(overhead
welding).
Use
additional
protection
if
possible.
Protect
the
filter
against
liquids
and
dirt.
Avoid
contact
with
water
or
excessiv
e
humidity
.
Before
each
use,
clean
dirt
off
the
helmet
and
make
sure
the
optical
sensors
and
solar
cells
in
the
front
are
not
obstructed.
Protect
the
helmet
and
its
components
against
solv
ents.
Clean
with
soft,
moist
cloth.
WARNING!
Product
warranty
is
void
and
user's
bodily
safety
compromised
in
the
case
of
any
modification
of
the
welding
helmet,
unintended
use,
or
failure
to
follow
this
manual.
6.
BEFORE
USE:
The
helmet
is
deliver
ed
to
you
assembled
and
r
eady
to
be
used.
Nevertheless,
the
following
is
necessar
y
before
use:
1.
Before
the
first
use
of
the
welding
helmet,
remov
e
protective
film
from
the
auto
darkening
filter
.
Other
wise
the
shade
may
be
incorrect
or
the
filter
may
not
work.
2.
Make
sure
the
helmet
is
fit
for
the
planned
type
of
work
and
that
all
components
of
the
helmet
are
in
place
,
installed
correctly
and
operational.
3.
Adjust
the
headgear
so
that
it
is
optimally
fitted
to
the
head.
4.
Set
the
sensitivit
y
,
delay
time,
and
shade
of
the
welding
filter
correctly
.

HELMET
ADJUSTMENT
:
(see
fig.
,
p.
2)

Before
use,
adjust
the
helmet
to
ensur
e
maximum
protection
and
comfort
of
use.
Correct
adjustment
of
the
helmet
pr
ovides
the
maximum
protection
of
eyes
against
ultraviolet
(UV
)
and
infrared
(IR)
radiation.
n
Band
adjustment
The
total
cir
cumference
of
operat
or's
headgear
can
be
reduced
or
increased
with
the
knob
at
the
back:
–
T
o
reduce
the
circumference,
press
the
knob
and
rotate
it
clockwise.
A
–
T
o
increase
the
circumference,
pr
ess
the
A
knob
and
rota
te
it
counter
clockwise.
The
circumfer
ence
is
set
corr
ectly
when
the
helmet
does
not
fall
off
operator's
head
and
it
does
not
exert
excessive
pressure
on
the
head.
Helmet
positioned
too
high
may
make
the
shell
fall;
helmet
positioned
too
low
may
be
uncomfortable.
The
optimum
position
of
the
helmet
on
operator's
head
may
be
set
with
the
band
in
the
upper
part
of
the
B
headgear
.
V
erify
band
adjustment
by
putting
the
helmet
up
and
down
when
fitted
on
the
head.
If
the
band
is
adjusted
correctly
,
the
helmet
should
be
stable

operator

it

be
adjusted:

Loosen
mounting
screws

The
correct
helmet
angle
protects
against
spatter
and
radiation
reaching
operator's
chin.
8.
USE:
n
Helmet
power
source
The
helmet
is
power
ed
with
two
lithium
CR2
3
V
batteries
charged
by
032
solar
cells.
It
pro
vides
battery
life
of
5000
hours
under
normal
operating
conditions.
Filter
power
is
automatically
controlled
by
optical
sensors.
The
internal
c
ontrol
panel
has
the
TEST
button,
which
can
be
used
to
control
corr
ect
operation
of
helmet
systems
(the
opera
tion
mode
switch
should
be
set
to
welding),
and
an
LEDy
indicator
for
empty
batt
er
.
The
low
voltage
diode
is
off
when
pow
er
provided
t
o
the
filter
is
sufficient.
When
the
diode
is
on,
the
batteries
should
be
replaced.

Helmet

tion:
Find
the
right
shade
for
your

process

the

on
page
and
set
the

MAINTENANCE
AND
STORAGE:
Perform
careful
maintenanc

helmet

a
regular
basis.

ed,
and
locked

in

yourself.
The
filter
cartridge
may
be
disassembled
by
authorised
service
or
qualified
technician.

the

Replacing
the
protective
glass:
In
order
to
ensur
e
long
and
fault-free
operation
of
the
filt
er
,
it
is
forbidden
to
use
the
helmet
without
polycarbonat
e
protective
glasses
.
Replace
the
front
pr
otective
glass
on
a
regular
basis
.
Hitting
spatter
tarnishes
it,
which
is
a
natural
phenomenon.
In
order
to
r
eplace
the
protective
glass
,
remov
e
the
auto
darkening
filt
er
cartridge
and
pull
the
glass
towards
the
inside
of
the
helmet.
CAUTION!
The
filter
element
should
be
r
eplaced
and
installed
b
y
qualified
and
competent
personnel
only
.

Replacing
the
filter
batteries
If
the
LO
W
BA
T
TERY
diode
is
on,
replace
the
batteries
with
new
ones.
The
batteries
ar
e
located
in
two
independen
t
compartments
in
the
filter
cartridge.
In
order
to
replace
the
ba
tteries,
r
otate
and
r
emove
a
compartment
lid.
Remove
a
used
battery
and
put
a
new
one
in.
Close
the
lid
and
repeat
for
the
other
battery.
CAUTION!
Replace
the
batteries
only
in
twos.
Do
not
use
a
used
and
new
battery
at
the
same
time.
