Warning -Batteries
•When inserting batteries, note the correct polarity (+ and -
markings) and insert the batteries accordingly.Failuretodo
so could result in the batteries leaking or exploding.
•Only use batteries that match thespecied type. Keep the
instructions for the correct choice of batteries included with
the operating instructions of devices safe for future reference.
•Beforeyou insert the batteries, clean the battery contacts and
the polarity contacts.
•Do not allow children to change batteries withoutsupervision.
•Replace allthe batteries in aset at thesame time.
•Do not mix old and new batteries, or batteries of different
types or from different manufacturers.
•Remove the batteries from products that arenot being used
for an extended period (unless these arebeing kept ready for
an emergency).
•Do not short-circuit batteries.
•Do not charge batteries.
•Do not burn batteries or heat them up.
•Never open, damage or swallow batteries or allow
them to enter the environment. They can contain toxic,
environmentally harmful heavy metals.
•Remove spent batteries from the product and dispose of them
without delay.
•Avoid storing, charging and using in extreme temperatures
and at extremely low atmospheric pressures (such as at high
altitudes).
•Ensurethat batteries with damaged housings do

4. Setup
•Open the battery compartment on thebackand insert 2AA
batteries, observing thecorrect polarity.
•Then close the battery compartment.
•The clock is now ready for operation.

5. Operation
Automatic setting according to the DCF signal
•After the battery is inserted, the clock automaticallystarts to
search for aDCF signal. The radio symbol (2) ashes during the
search process.
Note
Be awarethat electronic devices such as TVs, PCs,etc. can
interferewith reception. The interference range of such devices
can be up to two metres
Note -setting the time
•If no DCF radio signal is received within the rstfew minutes
of the initial setup procedure, the search is terminated. The
radio symbol disappears.
•In the event of reception problems, we recommend leaving
the clock standing overnight since the interference signals
aregenerally fewer in number at this time.
•Meanwhile, you can carry out amanual searchfor the DCF
radio signal at adifferent location or set the date and time
manually.
Note -time zone
•The DCF signal can be received in many places, however it
does not always correspond to the CET applicable in Germany.
Youshould thereforeremember to takeinto account thetime
difference in countries with adifferent time zone.
•Moscow,for example, is 3hours ahead of Germany.Set the
time to the time zone +3. The clock willthen automatically
set itself 3hours ahead of the time received from theDCF
signal or the time set manually.
6. Care and maintenance
•Only clean this product using alint-free, slightly dampcloth and
do not use any harsh cleaners.
•Ensurethat no water is able to enter theproduct.
